Best Buy founder’s group backs area health care organizations

The SWFL Stronger Together campaign supports Lee Health and NCH.

FORT MYERS — The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, a longtime benefactor of Lee Health and NCH, two of the largest health care systems in Southwest Florida, has donated $40,000 to the SWFL Stronger Together campaign.

Dick Schulze, who founded Best Buy and helped grow it into one of the largest consumer electronic retailers in the world, crated the foundation. The SWFL Stronger Together campaign, meanwhile, raises funds and other support for both health care organizations. Both hospital systems, according to a statement, are sharing policies, action plans and media updates, coordinating outreach efforts, working together to re-open surgeries and continuing to work on on-going training for team members.
