George Brusco, a former top leasing executive with retail development specialist Casto Southeast Realty Services, has joined Sarasota commercial real estate brokerage firm Ian Black Real Estate.

Brusco spent 18 years at Casto, the developer of a Whole Foods-anchored retail and residential complex in downtown Sarasota and the retail component of the $500 million Midtown Tampa project.

When he left the firm at the end of 2018, he was Casto Southeast’s vice president of leasing.

“I’m not limited by what I can accomplish at Ian Black,” says Brusco, 62. “I’ve known them for a long time, and they always look out first for their clients. They have integrity, a solid market share, marketing support and we share the same philosophy. It’s a good fit for me.”

Since leaving Casto Southeast, Brusco has represented Benderson Development Co. in transactions in Sarasota’s St. Armands Circle and others in Sarasota County.
