SARASOTA — Architecture and design firm Clifford M. Scholz Architects, Scholz, Oswald & Shaffer LLC broke ground on a new 5,000-square-foot office building.

Clifford M. Scholz Architects will relocate operations from its existing downtown building where it has been based for seven years to its new facility at 2724 Fruitville Road in Sarasota, according to a press release.

A statement says the move and new building are an opportunity to accommodate the firm's recent growth as well as serve current and future clients with a more easily accessible and recognizable location.

“This was an opportunity we just couldn’t pass on,” says Managing Partner Clifford Scholz in the statement. “The exposure paired with the convenience for our clients solidified the choice in proceeding with our own new space.”

Jackson & Associates General Contractors Inc. will be the general contractor for the project. The building is expected to be completed at the end of 2020.

The firm provides design solutions for luxury residential and commercial spaces. For 28 years, Clifford Scholz has served as the principal. In 2018, the firm welcomed two new partners — Rick Oswald as senior vice president and Daniel Shaffer as vice president.
