Health insurance tech firm changes name, stock exchange symbol

Tampa-based Health Insurance Innovations will be known as Benefytt Technologies.

TAMPA — Health Insurance Innovations Inc., which develops and operates private e-commerce health insurance marketplaces, among other products and services, has changed its name to Benefytt Technologies Inc.

According to a press release, the Tampa-based firm’s NASDAQ ticker symbol has been changed to BFYT.

“The name change signifies the company’s go-forward strategy to be a premier health insurance technology company that offers a range of Medicare-related insurance plans as well as other health and life insurance products that meet the needs of customers,” Benefytt Technologies President and CEO Gavin Southwell states in the release. “Additionally, the recent launch of Benefytt’s direct-to-consumer site, HealthInsurance.com, provides seniors and Medicare-eligible consumers the ability to access powerful online comparison tools and educational resources that enable efficient self-guided navigation and enrollment of available Medicare health insurance options.”

Benefytt Technologies reported gross revenue of $381.81 million in 2019, up from $351.1 million in 2018.
