CLEARWATER — Valley Bank has named Jeff Armstrong senior vice president of its Pinellas County commercial banking team.

According to a press release, Armstrong brings more than 30 years of investment and banking experience to the role. He worked for Sembler Investments as director of acquisitions and the Bank of Tampa as market director and senior vice president.

At Valley, the release states, Armstrong will lead commercial banking and lending throughout Pinellas County, where the bank has seven branches. He will oversee a team of six relationship managers.

“I am very excited about Valley’s potential for growth in Pinellas,” Armstrong states in the release. “We have a heavy focus on helping companies that are in the $10-$50 million revenue range and are growing, and there is a wealth of these companies in Pinellas that Valley could help.”

Armstrong will report to Al Rogers, who heads Valley’s Commercial Banking Division for Florida and Alabama.

“Jeff has a wealth of experience in banking and commercial lending, along with deep ties throughout the Tampa Bay area,” Rogers states in the release. “We plan to continue growing our presence in Pinellas, and Jeff’s background and commitment to the Tampa Bay community is a perfect fit.”
