TAMPA — Syniverse, a Tampa IT firm whose communications platform processes more than $35 billion in transactions every year, has hired Andrew Davies as its chief financial and administrative officer.
Davies, according to a press release, has more than 30 years of experience in the telecom industry and previously served as CFO of Sprint. He has also held executive leadership roles at Amsterdam-based VEON and Vodafone Group in Japan, Turkey and India. He will report to Syniverse President and CEO Dean Douglas when he starts work in July.
At Sprint, the release states, Davies played a key role in the company’s successful merger with T-Mobile, providing significant input into integration and business planning, as well as the regulatory advocacy process.
“Andrew Davies brings a wealth of experience and has worked with and for large enterprises and mobile network operators that align perfectly with Syniverse’s focus as a software and services leader,” Douglas states in the release. “He has a vast amount local market knowledge on a global scale that applies to Syniverse and our global operations. Andrew has lived in many cities around the world and is a welcome addition to the Syniverse team.”
Davies, the release states, succeeds interim CFO Simeon Irvine, who will remain with the company as chief transformation officer.
“Syniverse has significant opportunities for growth and development across some of the world’s most dynamic markets and industries, so I am delighted to be joining the team at such an exciting time,” Davies states in the release. “I look forward to helping the business continue to drive sustainable and profitable transformation while strengthening its financial position."
