TAMPA — Tampa General Hospital has named Mark Runyon its new executive vice president and CFO.
According to a press release, Runyon — who brings more than 30 years of finance leadership experience to the role — will begin work on March 2. He will lead and oversee the hospital’s financial plans as TGH continues to develop its complete system of care for the community, region and state.
“Mark has an excellent track record of consistently delivering results,” TGH President and CEO John Couris states in the release. He “possesses the right balance of professional skill and expertise related to the complexity of health care finance. He is a transformational leader; his commitment to excellence will strengthen our organization, and his vision and leadership style fit perfectly with the culture of TGH."
Runyon, the release states, comes to TGH from Intermountain Healthcare Inc., where he served as vice president of operational finance of the 23-hospital system that serves patients in Utah, Nevada and Idado.
“I’m excited and honored to join the exceptional team at Tampa General Hospital,” Runyon states in the release. “I look forward to working closely with the CEO, board, senior leaders and the entire team to successfully execute our vision to be the safest and most innovative academic health system in America.”
