FORT MYERS BEACH — Construction is underway at Grandview at Bay Beach, an 11-story high-rise tower on the southern tip of Fort Myers Beach. Valued at just under $100 million, it’s the first luxury tower to be built on Fort Myers Beach in over a decade.

The project, with panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico and Estero Bay, is a collaboration between London Bay Development Group, Suffolk Construction and Curts Gaines Hall Jones Architects, according to a statement. Representatives of London Bay Group joined elected officials and community leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking earlier in February, the release adds.

Two miles north of Lovers Key State Park, Grandview, with 58 waterfront residences, is expected to be open for residents next summer. Prices start in the high $900s.

“We’ve already seen great interest from homebuyers motivated by the desire to live within walking distance of the beach, and enjoy world-class panoramic views and resort-style amenities,” says London Bay Development Group President Mark Wilson in the statement. “Coupled with a contemporary design that showcases exceptional architecture, quality construction, and top-level finishes and features, Grandview is a winning combination.”

In addition to the total construction value, officials project total impact fees from Grandview will be over $400,000 and over 1,000 jobs will be created throughout the span of the project.

Ranging from 2,400 to 2,900 square feet, Grandview’s open-concept floor plans feature 9’1” ceilings, three or four bedrooms, a den, up to three-and-a-half bathrooms, private elevator access and dedicated covered space in the main garage, the release states. Six exclusive top-floor penthouses feature 11-foot ceilings and private two-car garages.

“We are once again excited and honored to continue our partnership with London Bay,” says Josh Christensen, COO and general manager of Suffolk’s Gulf Coast operations, in the statement. “Grandview at Bay Beach presents an incredible opportunity for Suffolk to implement our construction management approach alongside a client who equally embraces our passion for innovation and collaboration.”
