Developer Keating Resources has landed its first tenant for its Tampa Fulfillment Center project and says the 178,367-square-foot building could be fully committed by the end of the first quarter of next year.
The long-term lease by office furniture dealer and space planner Workscapes at 101 S. 34th St. follows a certificate of completion from the City of Tampa earlier this month.
Workscapes, which will consolidate its corporate offices from 501 E. Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa and install a showroom and furniture assembly functions, will occupy 31,820 square feet and relocate 35 employees.
Workscapes President Dick Dvorak says the company chose to relocate to Keating’s $18 million project based on its quality and location.
Workscapes was represented in the lease by Cushman & Wakefield’s JT Faircloth, while Kris Courier with commercial real estate brokerage CBRE negotiated on behalf of Keating.
Keating CEO Gerard Keating says a pair of other deals are pending and could push occupancy to 100% within 60 days.
