Developer breaks ground on amenity center in master-planned community

Plans for the center include a resort-style pool with sun shelves, a lap lane and lounge space as well as a covered patio.

LAKEWOOD RANCH — Neal Land & Neighborhoods, a Manatee and Sarasota-based master-planned community developer, recently broke ground on the Riverfield Verandah, an amenity center within the Riverfield neighborhood of North River Ranch.

Construction of the amenity center is led by Windward Building Group, according to a press release.

“Progress at North River Ranch has been continually increasing and we’re thrilled to announce the groundbreaking of our latest amenity at the community,” says John Neal, president of Neal Land & Neighborhoods, in the statement. “Our homebuyers are looking for ways to stay active and healthy close to home and we’re supporting those desires through the Riverfield Verandah.”

The Riverfield Verandah is expected to open in early 2021. Plans for the center include a resort-style pool with sun shelves, a lap lane and lounge space. A covered patio space will be used for entertaining, parties, al fresco dining and relaxing, the release states. 

Riverfield will offer over 260 three- and four-bedroom single-family homes and townhomes from builders David Weekley Homes and Neal Communities. The builders will release homesites for sale over phases. Initial phases offer single-family homes from David Weekley Homes priced from the mid $200s and Neal Communities townhomes from the low $200s. 

Neal Land & Neighborhoods is a development organization led by John Neal. The company aims to establish communities throughout Manatee, Sarasota and Hillsborough counties. Neal Land & Neighborhoods currently owns or controls several thousand acres of land entitled for more than 9,000 future residential homes and the supporting mixed-use commercial and retail.
