South Florida builder wins contract for luxury hotel project in region

Moss Construction has begun work on the first phase of the J.W. Marriott Clearwater Beach.

CLEARWATER — Moss Construction, a national builder headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, has been awarded a contract for the first phase of construction of the J.W. Marriott Clearwater Beach, a 391,059-square-foot mixed-use development, located at 691 S. Gulfview Blvd., that will feature 167 hotel rooms and 31 furnished residential units. 

According to a press release, Moss Construction has already begun work on the building’s deep foundations. The project was developed by philanthropist Kiran Patel and designed by Baker Barrios.

“We are excited to work with Dr. Patel’s team on another incredible project,” Moss Construction Vice President Toby Manulak states in the release. “Luxury and quality define the J.W. Marriott brand, and this project will define the Clearwater skyline for years to come.”

The J.W. Marriott Clearwater Beach’s amenities will include an elevated 11th-floor swimming pool and bar, spa, meeting rooms, ballrooms, gym, oceanfront restaurant with private dining, approximately 250 feet of private beach, garage parking and more.
