FORT MYERS — Quigley Eye Specialists has made its second acquisition in the past four weeks, purchasing an established optometry practice in downtown Fort Myers.
The latest acquisition, the optometry office of Dr. Bruce Senior, joins nine other practices under Quigley Eye Specialists ownership in Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties, according to a statement. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
“Dr. Senior is an excellent doctor with a stellar reputation in Fort Myers for more than 45 years,” Quigley Eye Specialists founder Dr. Thomas Quigley says in the statement. “Quigley Eye Specialists is growing rapidly to keep up with patient demand so it is important that we continue to add exceptional physicians to our medical team.”
By adding another location in Lee County, Quigley says the practice is able to give patients better access to care so they can be seen the same day, if needed. “As rapidly as this area is growing, we must have enough excellent doctors to meet the demand,” he says in the statement.
Dr. Senior will continue to provide care from the office at 2277 First St. in downtown Fort Myers. No operational changes are planned as a result of the acquisition, the release states.
Quigley Eye Specialists acquired the facial plastic surgery practice of Dr. Stephen Prendiville in July. Founded in 1988, Quigley Eye Specialists now consists of more than 70 medical professionals, including surgeons, optometrists, retina specialists and technicians. Offices are located throughout in Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Bonita Springs and Naples.
