CLEARWATER — Knight Enterprises, a Clearwater firm that installs and services telecommunications network technology, has been acquired by an affiliate of Mill Point Capital, a New York-based private equity firm.

According to a press release, Knight Enterprises CEO Jason Welz will continue to lead the company, which was founded in 1982 and specializes in underground and aerial fiber and coaxial cable construction and maintenance. Other terms of the deal, including the acquisition cost, were not disclosed in the release.

“Our partnership with Mill Point provides meaningful experience and resources that will help us build upon a successful platform with significant growth opportunity,” Welz states in the release.

Mill Point, the release states, focuses its investment strategy on middle-market firms in the communications and business services sectors.

“Under the leadership of Jason Welz and his management team, Knight has grown into a true market leader in critical communications infrastructure services,” Mill Point founder and Managing Partner Michael Duran states in the release. “We look forward to partnering with the company to execute on multiple growth opportunities and other strategic initiatives."
