FORT MYERS — Lee Health hired a new chief information officer who comes to the nonprofit organization with 28 years of experience in the health care industry.
Rick Schooler will oversee operational management, planning, organizing and strategic direction of the information systems/information technology function for the health system, according to a news release.
“Rick brings a wealth of leadership experience to this role and has a proven track record of driving success wherever he’s gone,” Lee Health President and CEO Larry Antonucci says in the release. “We’re fortunate to have someone with his background and expertise in this essential role and look forward to his vision for Lee Health’s digital direction.”
Schooler joined Lee Health after serving as vice president and CIO at Orlando Health where he was responsible for information technology, telecommunications, clinical informatics, enterprise analytics, quality reporting, biomedical engineering, supply chain and a group-purchasing organization. Before joining Orlando Health, he was the vice president and CIO at Central Georgia Health System (Navicent Health).
