BRADENTON — Lakewood Ranch-based Halfacre Construction Co. recently began a 12,000-square-foot revamp for First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton.

The approximately $2.4 million project is expected to be finished in summer 2020, according to a press release.

The work on the Spanish Mission-style building includes an interior and exterior remodel, a new roof, electrical updates and heating, ventilation and air conditioning chiller replacements. The architect on the project is Zoller Autrey Architects.

The existing 36,000-square-foot two-story church has a sanctuary, classrooms and offices. It accommodates a congregation of about 250 people.

“We are excited and grateful the renovation project is underway,” says Wayne Scroggins, chairman of the church’s building committee, in the statement. The church is at 1402 Manatee Ave. W. in downtown Bradenton.
