The awards keep on coming for Bill Daubmann and his team at MY Shower Door/D3 Glass. Earlier this year he was named a Business Observer Top Entrepreneur for leading the Fort Myers-based firm in both rapid growth and into a new headquarters and manufacturing facility. The company also recently made the Inc. 5,000 list for fast-growth, for the fourth time.
The latest recognition: The company was named Manufacturer of the Year at the Industry Appreciation Awards, presented by Lee County’s Economic Development Office, the Horizon Council and the Horizon Foundation. The award, according to a statement, honors an area manufacturing business in Lee County that “exhibits excellence and growth in leadership, performance, profitability and workforce relations.” The award was presented before 750 people at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point and Spa in Bonita Springs at a recent event.
Daubmann and his wife, Donna, have been involved in the frameless shower door industry since the mid-1980s. The pair opened their first frameless shower door showroom in Naples in 2003 and added manufacturing component D3 Glass in 2013. Today the company has grown to seven Florida showrooms with more than 100 employees. The couple’s two sons, Keith and Doug, are also part of the business.
The company has installed more than 75,000 frameless shower doors since 2003, and sales are up 48.2% since 2016, from $11.4 million to $16.9 million last year. “We feel that our growth and sustainability is because of our family atmosphere,” President Bill Daubmann says in a statement. “Our vision is to grow MY Shower Door into a national brand by offering outstanding customer service and providing the most beautiful and functional frameless shower doors possible.”
