CLEARWATER — The Clearwater Marine Aquarium has hired Richard “Dick” Regan as CFO. His appointment comes soon after the hiring of Darryl Connors in the newly created role of chief business officer.
According to a press release, Regan is a seasoned sports management executive, having worked for the New England Patriots and NFL Europe. He also served as athletic director at Holy Cross College. An accountant by training, Regan began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co.
“Dick is bringing an incredible level of experience in managing high-profile organizations and skillfully improving operating results,” CMA CEO David Yates states in the release. “We are very excited to have Dick join our team. His knowledge in negotiating contracts and creating efficiencies in corporate structures is going to elevate Clearwater Marine Aquarium to a new level of productivity.”
Regan’s hiring, the release states, comes at a crucial time as the aquarium prepares to open an expanded facility that it says will attract more visitors from around the world.
“Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a very unique and dynamic organization with a wonderful mission,” said Regan. “Under David Yates’ vision and leadership, CMA’s best days lie ahead. I’m very excited to be part of such a strong management group and contributing to the aquarium’s thriving future.”
