SARASOTA — Bavaro's Pizza Napoletana & Pastaria has opened a new location in downtown Sarasota.

The restaurant is in a restored 100-year-old historic building off Main Street at 27 Fletcher Ave. The 150-seat Bavaro’s serves lunch and dinner seven days a week, according to a press release. It will also have live music on the outside patio, catering options and private room availability.

Owner Dan Bavaro opened his original 50-seat Bavaro’s in downtown Tampa 10 years ago.

“We are committed to the art and craft of Neapolitan pizza,” says Bavaro in a statement. “Bavaro’s stays true to tradition by using hand-crafted, wood-fired brick ovens designed by third-generation Neapolitan craftsmen, a 100-year-old yeast culture, 100-year-old Neapolitan recipes and top-of-the-line ingredients sourced directly from Italy.”

In addition to Tampa and Sarasota, Bavaro’s has locations in St. Petersburg and Tampa International Airport. Sorellina, a sister outpost of Bavaro’s, is in Tampa’s Hall on Franklin.
