SARASOTA — Site work is underway after Seaward Development LLC broke ground on Epoch, an 18-story, 23-unit condominium tower in downtown Sarasota.
The project is between South Palm Avenue and Gulfstream Avenue.
Seaward Development principals Patrick DiPinto and David Hargreaves marked the groundbreaking with a ceremony with future homeowners, the architectural team and executives from Gilbane Construction, according to a statement. Residences will range from 3,680 to 5,650 square feet. They are priced from $3.3 million to $8.5 million. Approximately 40% of the building is under contract, the release adds.
"We wanted the building to have an iconic and timeless design but recognized that it had to fit Sarasota’s unique character,” says Hargreaves in the statement. “This is not a city of celebrities and media stars who require the outrageous, but it is a city that embraces a heritage of modern architectural design.”
The design of the tower was done by Nichols, Brosch, Wurst & Wolfe of Coral Gables.
Residences will have bay views, and building amenities include concierge service, two levels of garage parking, private garages, a rooftop terrace, a guest suite, a fitness center with massage suite, a social room, a pool terrace, a 70-foot lap pool, a bar/grill area, cabanas and gathering spaces with fire tables.According to a press release, Sarasota-based Seaward Development's projects include Park Residences of Lido Key and 7 One One Palm, a condominium community with 16 residences expected to be finished in January 2019.
For over two decades, DiPinto, a licensed building contractor, has developed and built hundreds of residential and commercial projects throughout Connecticut and Florida. Hargreaves is a retired CFO of a Fortune 500 company and an experienced real estate investor, the statement adds.
