The Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance celebrated job growth May 9 during part of National Economic Development Week.
A pro-business organization that connects and advocates for the business community in the Lakewood Ranch area, the Alliance held the event at the Sarasota Memorial Health Care System and First Physicians Group facility in Lakewood Ranch. In addition to SMH officials, attendees included representatives from the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corp.; Economic Development Corp of Sarasota County; the Sarasota and Manatee chambers; and elected officials, according to a statement. The facility, at the corner of State Road 70 and Lorraine Road, is currently in the final stages of construction and set to open in July.
“It is economic drivers like SMH and numerous others that can open the door for a community and allow small business to thrive,” says 2019 LWRBA Chairwoman Heather Williams in the statement. “It is investments in education, real estate, and health care — like the one we are here celebrating here today — that lay the foundation for a community to grow on an economic level.”
