SARASOTA — The Van Wezel Foundation named Sasha Hausman the organization’s new director of development.
Hausman has over 13 years of experience in fundraising, donor cultivation, stewardship, marketing and public speaking, according to a press release.
In her new role, she will be responsible for leading and expanding the Van Wezel’s development efforts.

As the chief development officer, Hausman had oversight of all philanthropic initiatives, including annual giving, grants, sponsorships, fundraising events and two capital campaigns.
Previously she spent 10 years working in development and special events at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. As director of philanthropy, she was part of a major gifts fundraising team that raised $16 million annually, the release adds.
“We are very fortunate to have someone of Sasha’s experience and skill set,” says Van Wezel Foundation CEO Cheryl Mendelson in the statement. “Sasha is a driven and energetic leader who is seasoned in inspiring and engaging the community for a greater good.”
