Hospital names new chief operating officer

Prior to joining Venice Regional, Benjamin Brodersen was vice president of operations at HCA Blake Hospital in Bradenton.

VENICE — Venice Regional Bayfront Health has named Benjamin Brodersen chief operating officer.

Brodersen has spent more than 10 years in health care operations, according to a press release. He will report to the CEO as he oversees day-to-day operations, including facilities, systems and business processes to support the hospital’s teams that deliver patient care.

Prior to joining Venice Regional, Brodersen was vice president of operations at HCA Blake Hospital in Bradenton, according to the statement. Before that he was director of surgical services for HCA West Florida Division Performance Improvement in Tampa. He also has worked at HCA Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville and Jewish Hospital and Baptist Hospital East, both in Louisville, Ky.

“Ben’s passion for creating a high-quality health care experience for our patients will be tremendously valuable as we move forward with our continuous improvement efforts as Venice’s community hospital,” says Venice Regional CEO Karen Fordham in a statement.

Since 1951, Venice Regional Bayfront Health has provided health care services including cardiac, stroke, orthopedic, metabolic, open-heart and advanced surgery, wound care, women’s care and interventional radiology, to the greater Venice area.
