TAMPA — Betty Viamontes, a 25-year veteran of organizations such as Tampa General Hospital and the University of South Florida, has been named CFO of the Lions Eye Institute for Transplant & Research.

In a press release, Lions Eye says Viamontes will oversee the Tampa nonprofit’s accounting and finance department. She will also be involved in strategic expansion efforts.

“With significant growth in the past two years, it’s important to review and assess all efficiencies in the staff structure,” Lions Eye President and CEO Jason Woody states in the release. “Lions Eye Institute is proud to bring in trusted, C-suite level talent to the organization in an effort to provide the best accounting and finance services possible.”

Viamontes, the release states, comes to Lions Eye from TGH, where she worked for 22 years. As corporate controller, she was responsible for all accounting activity for the health care system.
