Topgolf, a multi-venue golf-entertainment venue that offers in-person, virtual or digital ways to play the game, plans to break ground on a St. Petersburg location in the next few weeks.
The new location, at 220 Carrillon Parkway, is expected to open next year, according to a statement. It will be the second Topgolf location in the region, joining another one in Brandon. It’s also one of two new Topgolf locations, with the other under construction outside Orlando, in Lake Mary.
“Florida has always been important to Topgolf, as we have been connecting communities and creating moments that matter at five venues throughout the state for a number of years," says Topgolf Chief Development Officer Chris Callaway in the statement. "As we continue our bold and purposeful approach to growth, we are thrilled to extend our special blend of technology and entertainment to Lake Mary and St. Petersburg.”
Topgolf venues feature high-tech gaming, climate-controlled hitting bays, a chef-driven menu, hand-crafted cocktails, music, corporate and social event spaces and more. Guests can play point-scoring games using micro-chipped balls that instantly show performance data, including accuracy and distance, on a TV screen.
The Lake Mary and St. Petersburg Topgolf venues will each hire more than 400 full- and part-time employees throughout the next year and expect to serve approximately 450,000 guests annually.
