Airport scores more passenger traffic records

Sarasota Bradenton International Airport has seen 16 straight months of passenger growth

Sarasota Bradenton International Airport set an all-time record for passenger traffic in June, with 147,615 passengers traveling through the airport. 

Traffic for the month was up 48.7% over June of 2018, say airport officials in a statement.  Year-to-date passenger numbers are up 39.6%, the release adds.

Passenger traffic for the first 6 months of 2019, meanwhile, totaled 988,105 passengers. The airport, under the call letters SRQ has seen 16 straight months of passenger growth and has expanded service to eight airlines serving 29 destinations. 

“SRQ continues to enjoy rapid growth with new airlines, more nonstop destinations, and competitive fares that make flying to and from SRQ affordable and convenient,”  says airport President and CEO Rick Piccolo in the statement. “We expect to see continued growth moving forward and are excited to become the premier gateway for Sarasota–Bradenton and its beaches.”
