Nonprofit hires executive vice president

SARASOTA — The Haven named Rebecca Blitz executive vice president.

Blitz will be responsible for all fundraising and outreach activities for the Sarasota nonprofit, including donor relations, special events, capital campaigns and volunteer engagement, according to a press release. 

Previously, Blitz served as the regional director for the local Make-A-Wish affiliate for five years. She was involved in planning, implementing, managing and overseeing all fundraising and donor relations activities, the release adds. 

The Haven offers programs and services for adults and children with disabilities to enhance quality of life by encouraging independence, championing inclusion and advocating for their individual rights. On its 32-acre campus, the organization offers a preschool and high school; vocational, independent living and life skills training; supported residential living for adults 18 and over; employment services; a summer camp for children in grades six to 12; and the retail operations Heavenly Haven Bakery and Upscale Resale thrift store.
