LAKELAND — Former U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross, R-Lakeland, has joined the Lakeland office of GrayRobinson, a Florida-based law firm that also has offices in Tampa, Fort Myers and Naples.
According to a press release, Ross will hold an of-counsel position at the firm, which recently acquired Washington, D.C.-based federal lobbying firm Eris Group. While in Congress, Ross served as deputy majority whip and was a member of the House Committee on Financial Services.
Ross, who also served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008, was elected to Congress in 2010, filling the seat previously held by Adam Putnam, according to a statement. He chose not to seek re-election in 2018 and was succeeded by fellow Republican Ross Span, who defeated Democrat Kristen Carlson.
“Dennis has represented Floridians at the highest levels of government for almost two decades,” states Mayanne Downs, president and managing director of GrayRobinson, in the release. “Dennis’s experience and reputation in both Florida and Washington will further enhance our abilities to accelerate our business growth and advance our clients’ interests. We’re honored to have him on our GR team.”
