Cushman & Wakefield promotes Agnew to head property management

Commercial real estate brokerage Cushman & Wakefield has promoted Mike Agnew, a company veteran, to lead its considerable property management division in Florida.

As senior managing director of asset services, Agnew will now oversee some 270 employees and a portfolio in excess of 300 buildings containing more than 41 million square feet.

“Cushman & Wakefield has a great culture and great people,” says Agnew, 58, who has worked at the firm for the past 25 years after joining in 1993 as a portfolio manager from Westford Asset Management Inc.

During his tenure, he has managed retail centers, office buildings, industrial facilities and other assets.

Agnew replaces Tim Rivers, who left Cushman & Wakefield last fall to lead rival brokerage JLL’s Florida operations. Agnew says he hopes to follow Rivers’ example in leading the property management operation.

Agnew was recognized by Cushman & Wakefield as a Top Asset Services Professional by the firm in both 2001 and 2004, and in 2007, was named the company’s Most Valuable Player in Florida.

“Commercial real estate has become a very technology savvy business, but the management part of the business still really centers around people,” Agnew says.
