CLEARWATER — Sprouts Farmers Market has scheduled a Jan. 16 grand opening for its Clearwater store, located at 23656 U.S. Highway 19 N., beginning at 7 a.m.

The Phoenix-based chain of specialty grocery stores — with revenue that topped $4.05 billion in 2017, up from $3.59 billion in 2016 — has made a big push into Florida’s Gulf Coast in recent months, with a store in Naples set to open Feb. 20. Plans for stores in Riverview and Trinity have also been announced.

According to a press release, the Clearwater store will feature products made by local companies such as Daikin Dairy, Humanitea, Kombucha 221 B.C. and Terrapin Ridge Farms.

Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the first 200 shoppers at the grand opening of the 32,000-square-foot Clearwater store will receive 20% off their bill and a free reusable shopping bag, the release states.
