Distributor acquires area chemical company

SARASOTA — Coastal Construction Products, based in Jacksonville, has acquired Construction Chemical Corp. of Sarasota.

Coastal Construction Products is an independent distributor of caulking and sealants, waterproofing and concrete restoration materials. According to a press release, the acquisition comes four months after Coastal announced plans to expand its distribution platform nationwide.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

“We’re pleased to welcome Construction Chemical into the Coastal family,” says CEO Martin Harrell in a statement. “We were attracted by their solid reputation for good customer service and their support of the construction industry on Florida’s West Coast. They will join our other offices in Tampa and Ft. Myers as we continue to serve the area.”

Construction Chemical Corp. is a family-owned construction products distributor that has been in business for over 30 years. It specializes in waterproofing, restoration and preservation, the release states. 

“Sarasota is growing rapidly and we’re excited to have a greater presence there,” Harrell adds in the statement. “Construction Chemical will serve as the hub as we bring exceptional products and service to the region.”

Coastal is headquartered in Jacksonville. It has 14 stocking locations that provide specialty construction products to customers throughout the Southeast as well as Latin America and the Caribbean.
