TAMPA — Skoda Minotti, a Cleveland-based accounting and business advisory firm with a presence in Tampa, has merged with New York-based Marcum, one of the 15 largest accounting firms in the country.
Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
The Tampa office of Marcum will be led by Daniel Dowell, according to a statement. Dowell began his career in business consulting with a national accounting firm. He later founded a Tampa-based firm, Dowell & Perez, which was acquired by Skoda Minotti in 2013, the firm’s website states.
“Skoda Minotti expands Marcum’s service capabilities and critical mass in the strategically important Midwest and Florida regions of the country,” says Marcum Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Weiner. “Their core values of teamwork and innovation strongly parallel Marcum’s, providing a highly synergistic start for our new relationship. In addition, like Marcum, Skoda Minotti has a long history of entrepreneurship, both in its commitment to being an integral contributor to its clients’ success and in evolving its own business model.
The combined firm will have 300 partners and approximately 2,300 associates, the release states. Marcum ranked No. 15 on Accounting Today’s 2019 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $549.75 million in revenue. Skoda Minotti ranked No. 74 on the same list, with $58.55 million in revenue. Skoda Minotti is a member of the Inc. 500 Hall of Fame.
