Medical device firm appoints vice president

Nadine Baez has been promoted at SynDaver and will lead research and commercialization efforts.

TAMPA — Nadine Baez has been named vice president of research and commercialization for SynDaver’s global government business unit.

SynDaver, based in Tampa, specializes in the development of synthetic humans for medical device testing, surgical simulation and education.

According to a press release, Baez, a resident of Sarasota, joined the company in January 2018 as its director of research and engineering. She has more than a decade of experience in the medical simulation field and has contributed to U.S. Department of Defense research initiatives.

“This is a well-deserved promotion for Nadine and a strategic one for SynDaver,” SynDaver CEO Christopher Sakezles states in the release. “Nadine has been very creative in coming up with innovative solutions that contribute to reaching our objectives and since joining SynDaver has been instrumental in our expansion into the veterinary and STEM education fields. With her thorough understanding of our capabilities relative to end-user requirements, experience in the industry and business development acumen, I know she will accelerate our portfolio advancements and introduce disruptive solutions to revolutionize the industry.”
