SARASOTA — Sweet Sparkman Architects named Michele Demperio a firm partner.

Demperio has been with the Sarasota-based firm for 15 years, where she held every role from office manager to director of business development, according to a statement. She’s been essential in creating a “people first” mentality throughout the firm, the statement adds.

“Sweet Sparkman Architects' receipt of AIA Florida 2018 Firm of the Year can be attributed to the passion and commitment that our staff brings to the office daily,” firm founder and Principal Todd Sweet says in the statement. “Michele is the paradigm of this individual and we look forward to her continued passion as a firm owner.”

A Sarasota resident for over 20 years, Demperio currently serves on two boards: 96.5 WSLR/Fogartyville since 2012 and ACE Mentoring since 2018.

Sweet Sparkman Architects specializes in community-oriented projects and has received national and international design industry recognition for a wide range of private and public projects including residences, offices, academic buildings, fire stations and park pavilions.
