Midtown Tampa master developer has formally announced that Casto Southeast Realty Services and Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate Inc., of Ohio, will become partners in the $500 million project and oversee its retail development and leasing.

In all, the 22-acre Midtown project will contain roughly 220,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurants. The pair are expected to introduce a variety of new tenants to the Tampa/St. Petersburg market.

Lakewood Ranch-based Casto Southeast and Anderson Real Estate, which have collectively developed more than 30 million square feet of retail space nationwide, have been engaged in working on Midtown for much of the past year.

“We each have a heavy emphasis on retail, particularly within mixed-use projects,” says Casto Southeast CEO Brett Hutchens, adding he believes Midtown Tampa is a “game-changing project.”

Bromley and partners are currently constructing the first phase of the 1.8 million-square-foot Midtown Tampa, which is slated for completion in early 2021.

Previously, Bromley has unveiled partnerships with Highwoods Properties Inc. for three office towers; Crescent Communities for a 390-unit apartment complex; and Concord Hospitality Enterprises for hotel development at Midtown, which is located between downtown Tampa and the Westshore Business District.
