SARASOTA — SunTrust Banks Inc. appointed Fermin “JJ” Miranda as the bank’s Southwest Florida market president.
According to a press release, Miranda was most recently with Cadence Bank. At Cadence, he worked in business banking as part of the local leadership team in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
In Miranda's new role, he will be based in SunTrust’s Sarasota office.
“JJ will be key to leading the growth of our commercial banking business in Southwest Florida," says SunTrust Tampa Bay Market President Tim Schar in the statement. "His more than 20 years of banking experience will be critical to our clients and teammates. JJ is well positioned to lead the delivery of our One Team approach in the market and is well aligned to our purpose of Lighting the Way to Financial Well-Being."
Miranda serves on the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee College of Business Advisory Board; the Bradenton Economic Development Corp. Board and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast Corporate Board.
SunTrust Banks is headquartered in Atlanta. As of June 30, SunTrust had total assets of $208 billion and total deposits of $161 billion.
