SARASOTA — The Sarasota County Bar Association named area real estate attorney Nancy Cason president.
Cason is a partner at Syprett, Meshad, Resnick, Lieb, Dumbaugh, Jones, Krotec & Westheimer, P.A., according to a statement. She will oversee an organization with more than 900 members the release adds.
Cason has been involved in the bar association since 2002, serving as a board member, treasurer, secretary, and president of the young lawyers division.
In 2007, she was presented with the Association's C.L. McCaig Award for extraordinary service, and in 2009, was recognized with the President's Award, for her leadership of the YLD, the release adds.
In addition to her work with the bar association, Florida Gov. Rick Scott appointed Cason to the Twelfth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, once in 2011 and again in 2017. She’s currently chairwoman of the commission.
Cason joined Syprett Meshad in 1998 as a legal assistant right out of college. She was named a partner in 2007, and has been a co-managing partner since 2009. Her practice at the firm, the release states, covers commercial and residential real estate transactions and litigation, estate planning and litigation and business transactions and litigation.
