Estero-based commercial real estate brokerage firm Trinity Commercial Group Inc. has been hired by the Lee County School District to market roughly 245 acres that had been initially designated for new schools.
The nine parcels in all are expected to sell for between $20 and $40 million.
Trinity President and Managing Partner Dan O’Berski says the properties to one quarter of an acre to more than 69 acres.
Roughly half of the parcels are in Fort Myers and North Fort Myers, with others spread throughout the county in Alva, Estero, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs and Lehigh Acres.
The largest tract, a 69.37-acre site, is located between Three Oaks Parkway and Interstate 75, just north of Corkscrew Road.
“These are all premium sites,” O’Berski says. “They were each intended for schools, or in some cases, they are still intended to someday be sites for schools, but those decisions are more than 10 years out.
“In some cases, properties have either been added to, or land has been donated to the district, so they are not suitable for schools.”
He adds that Trinity is now actively marketing the properties and hopes to have “a clear path” regarding at least half of the sites by the end of the year.
Trinity was selected from among a dozen firms that hoped to represent the district in the sales., and scored top marks among three short-listed firms.
