CLEARWATER — Bovie Medical Corp. CFO Jay Ewers recently announced he intends to retire from the medical device and supply firm.

The Clearwater company, with $38.9 million in revenue in 2017, has initiated a search for a new CFO, according to a statement. Ewers, also treasurer and secretary, will provide support for the firm through the transition.

“I would like to thank Jay, on behalf of the board and the entire team at Bovie Medical, for his significant contributions since joining the company in 2014,” Bovie President and CEO Charlie Goodwin says in the statement. “We appreciate his continued commitment to the company and its shareholders as we identify a successor and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”
