SARASOTA — JFCS of the Suncoast has announced a new board chair.
Dean Miller was appointed to the position of board chair elect for the social services nonprofit. According to a press release, he will coordinate board activities, provide leadership, oversee governance and development, and support the organization's mission.
Miller has been a member of the JFCS board for two years. He has more than 35 years of senior leadership experience in financial services, including business risk and control, innovation and change management with JPMorgan Chase & Co. Miller was also a vice chairman for Orbian Corp. and a consultant for IBM.
He has over 17 years of international business experience, having lived and worked in Asia and Europe.
"It is important we continue to grow awareness and outreach as the premier local safety net social service organization, serving individuals of all ages and from all income levels, ethnic backgrounds and religions," says Miller in a statement.
JFCS was founded in 1985. It serves Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, Collier, Lee and DeSoto counties. Its seven focal areas are youth, seniors, cancer support, Jewish healing, counseling, veterans and families.
“Dean’s strong reputation and skill set in bringing solutions to complex business challenges and creating a collaborative culture to attain organizational goals is ideally suited for JFCS,” says JFCS CEO Heidi Brown in a statement.
