VENICE — Florida Gov. Rick Scott and First Lady Ann Scott visited Venice-based door and window manufacturer PGT Innovations May 9.

During their visit to the manufacturing plant, the Scotts talked with employees as part of the current governor's "Make Washington Work" campaign for U.S. Senate.

According to a press release, Rick Scott also met with PGT Innovations CEO and President Jeff Jackson; Senior Vice President of Marketing and Product Management Danielle Mikesell; and Senior Vice President of Human Resources Debbie LaPinska.

He also spoke to a group of more than 100 employees and Venice residents at a PGT facility in North Venice. Rick Scott spoke about attracting and retaining workers and PGT's contributions to the community.

“You’ve got a great leader and have tripled your employees in a little over seven years,” says Rick Scott, according to a statement. “Whether it’s compensation, incentives or the child care center, great companies give back to the community. PGT Innovations has done that and that’s how you’ve continued to grow.”
