SARASOTA — United Way Suncoast has launched a search for a new Sarasota area president.
During the search, Bronwyn Beightol will serve as interim area leader, according to a press release. Beightol is the Manatee area president for United Way Suncoast.
“A search team has been formed and we have a clear idea of the leadership qualities and experience we are looking for," United Way Suncoast Sarasota Area Board Chairman David Ford-Coates says in a statement.
United Way Suncoast CEO Suzanne McCormick and the Sarasota area board for United Way Suncoast are working to identify top candidates.
The role will continue to be based from the United Way office in downtown Sarasota.
Mireya Eavey previously held the position. She resigned to become the chief workforce strategist at the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce.
A statement says United Way Suncoast invested $2.2 million last year in Sarasota area initiatives. United Way Suncoast serves people in DeSoto, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pinellas and Sarasota counties.
