Builder targets more Florida projects with new executives

Rockford Construction’s Southeast regional headquarters is in Estero.

ESTERO — Rockford Construction, a Grand Rapids, Mich.-based firm with a Southeast regional headquarters in Estero, named two new project managers.

The new executives, , Ron Marra and Jay Cartwright, will “be instrumental in expanding Rockford’s presence throughout Florida,” according to a statement.

Cartwright has been in the construction industry for nearly 30 years, and has handled more than $600 million in projects for municipal, civil, health care, commercial, retail and residential clients. Marra has more than 30 years of construction experience, with 20 of those years having been in Southwest Florida. His previous roles include project manager, building code administrator, general contractor and estimator. Companies Marra has worked for include Wright Construction Group and Manhattan Construction Co.

“We are thrilled to have Jay and Ron on board. Their senior-level experience will serve our clients well throughout Florida,” says Eric Monroe, vice president, southeast region for Rockford, in a statement. “Rockford Construction looks forward to expanding its footprint and is confident in the project management and leadership both Jay and Ron bring to the team.”

Rockford Construction is currently the renovation of Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers, among other projects in Florida. The firm was founded in 1987, and is ranked by Engineering News-Record as one of the top 200 contractors in the nation.
