Looking to boost knowhow of financial topics?

Then a day filled with financial knowledge, scheduled for April 5 at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, could be for you. It's the second annual Financial Literacy Day, hosted by USF Sarasota-Manatee and the nonprofit Global Interdependence Center and sponsored by Sarasota-based Cumberland Advisors.

The first Financial Literacy Day marked Cumberland's donation of 12 Bloomberg Terminals to USF Sarasota-Manatee. This year, the scheduled Financial Literacy Day keynote speaker is Raphael Bostic, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Chris Whalen, chairman of Whalen Global Advisors LLC and a GIC board member, will speak as well, discussing the U.S. banking system.

The day will also include talks on municipal financial market developments; the use of quantitative measurement and technical analysis in the stock market; the outlook for the U.S. stock market and the world; and the global economic outlook.

The event is $50. For more information and to register, visit interdependence.org/events.
