Two bankers, attorney join nonprofit board

SARASOTA — Habitat for Humanity Sarasota Inc. has announced three new board members.

The new members are Tommy Gregory, Jennifer Poppen and Jody Garris.

Gregory is an attorney with Sarasota law firm Williams Parker Harrison Dietz & Getzen. He represents individual and corporate clients in commercial litigation cases. He also represents private and public employers in labor and employment law matters.

Poppen is a senior business banking specialist with Wells Fargo. According to a press release, she has over 13 years of experience in the banking industry.

Garris is a mortgage loan officer with Florida Community Bank with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.

John Peshkin is continuing his term as board chair. He has served on Habitat Sarasota's board of directors for eight years. Peshkin is founder and managing partner at private real estate investment group Vanguard Land.

"We are committed to serving 66 families in the next two-and-a-half years and are diligently working to overcome today's challenge of finding affordable land," says Peshkin in a statement.
