NEW PORT RICHEY — In late February, Jacksonville-based LandSouth Construction broke ground on a new retirement community to be built on 2.82 acres in Pasco County.

According to a press release, Trinity Independent Senior Living, at 1900 Blue Fox Way in New Port Richey, will cost $19.3 million to build. It's expected to be completed by June 2019.

Chancey Design Partnership Inc., based in Tampa, is providing architectural services for the project, which will consist of a five-story building featuring 117 units ranging from 732 to 1,330 square feet in size. Twelve different floor plans will be available, according to the release.

“This new community is ideally located for those boomers who may want to continue to work and live in a vibrant area,” states LandSouth president and CEO James Pyle in the release, adding that the active adult market represents one of the fastest-growing segments of the housing industry. “This will truly be a unique independent living community with its intimate size, amenities and sought-after location.”

Upon completion, the community will be managed by Watermark Retirement Communities.
