SARASOTA — The latest in a string of downtown Sarasota condo projects, BLVD Sarasota, is set for construction.

BCBE Construction, the general contractor, has initiated the permits necessary to begin construction and the developer, Core Development, recently announced plans to break ground this spring on the project, according to a statement. Future residents have begun to secure their homes there by converting their reservations to contracts, the release adds.

“We are pleased to be another step closer to bringing BLVD Sarasota to life," Core Development President Kevin Daves says in the statement. “With permitting underway it won't be long before BLVD Sarasota will be on the rise, capturing the imagination of all who visit the vibrant downtown district.”

The 18-story BLVD Sarasota tower will feature 47 three-bedroom residences ranging from 3,550 to 3,900 square feet, plus two two-story penthouse residences of more than 5,000 square feet. Amenities include an indoor driving range; a pet lawn with grooming station; a wine cellar for the storage of private collections; a fitness center; conference center; and a zero-horizon, rooftop pool with sundeck and entertainment area. Prices for BLVD Sarasota residences start at $1.7 million.
