Nonprofit hires construction administrator

SARASOTA — Habitat for Humanity Sarasota has hired Danny Bilyeu as construction administrator. 

Bilyeu is a former field representative for U.S. Rep Vern Buchanan, R-Longboat Key.

As construction administrator, he will oversee planning, development and construction of 20 or more homes a year. Primarily, he will support development at Hammock Place, a 40-home neighborhood in Sarasota.  

"Danny’s passion for Sarasota and his multifaceted experience will help Habitat Sarasota achieve our goals for the future," says Habitat for Humanity Sarasota President and CEO Renee Snyder in a statement. 

Bilyeu is also a former Sarasota City Commissioner. He served as vice mayor from 2006-07. He has served on several city and county advisory boards as well. 

Bilyeu says in a statement, “I am looking forward to working with CEO Renee Snyder, the board, staff and all of the wonderful volunteers as we work to serve our community with affordable housing.”
