Tax, white-collar defense expert promoted at law firm

Tampa-based Wiand Guerra King makes Matthew Mueller a shareholder.

TAMPA — The law firm of Wiand Guerra King named Matthew Mueller a shareholder.

According to a press release, Mueller first joined the Tampa-based firm in 2015 and has been a leader in developing its white collar and criminal tax defense practices.

Mueller, a former federal prosecutor, worked for the U.S. Department of Justice as a trial attorney with the department’s tax division in Washington, D.C., and later as an assistant U.S. attorney in Tampa.

Mueller focuses his practice on white-collar defense, including civil and criminal tax, securities and health care matters, regulatory enforcement actions, grand jury investigations and civil litigation.

According to the release, Mueller assists indigent criminal defendants via his involvement with the Middle District of Florida’s Criminal Justice Act panel.
