Agency: Web Jarvis, Sarasota
Client: Green Apple Catering, Sarasota
Task: Refresh branding and develop new marketing collateral for Green Apple Catering.
Web Jarvis Client Partner Steph Szuts says new marketing materials helped Green Apple Catering owner and chef Valerie King shift her business from a deli to a company that caters weddings, other events, preschools and more. While she’s primarily relied on word of mouth in the past, King wanted to expand her business, and she thought she needed better marketing tools to do that. King’s goal, Szuts says, was to increase awareness of her business, increase engagement in the community and to have people seek out her catering services.
The working relationship between Green Apple Catering and Web Jarvis — both based in Sarasota — started with food. King grew familiar with members of the Web Jarvis team when they visited her deli for lunches.
“She was going into a different avenue, and she needed to pull in a different clientele,” says Szuts. “She really needed to up her branding and communication.”
Highlights: Web Jarvis redesigned the company’s website and created a new logo, menu brochure and business cards. The logo shifted from a more formal black-and-white look with words written in cursive to a logo that incorporates a green apple with friendlier lettering. Szuts says it was important that King’s approachable and friendly but also professional personality was expressed in marketing materials.
The Web Jarvis team also integrated a company tagline into collateral to emphasize one of Green Apple Catering’s key selling points: “Always Crisp, Always Fresh.” Overall, Szuts says, “We made things fresh and cohesive.”
Outcome: With the new website, King wanted something that got results, Szuts says. “She didn’t want something that was just pretty. She needed to get leads from it. That was important because it’s an investment.” This past season was her busiest wedding season, Szuts says, and King acquired two preschool clients.
Web Jarivs and Green Apple Catering will continue to work together, Szuts says. Up next? Getting professional photos taken for use on the Green Apple Catering website and social media.
As the company expands and establishes its niche in the culinary community, Szuts says marketing materials will be further honed. “She’s going to continue to grow,” she says. “With technology changing, we can help her. We have tools, expertise and knowledge. It’s just a really great partnership.”
