SARASOTA — Architect Sean Williams will join Carlson Studio Architecture as the principal in charge of the Sarasota office.
Carlson Studio Architecture is a full-service design firm focused on sustainable buildings.
According to a press release, Carlson Studio Architecture founder and President Michael Carlson will transition to focus on growing the firm's Seattle office.
"After more than a year of searching for the perfect partner, I selected Sean primarily because we share the same values," says Carlson in a statement. "We have established a reputation in sustainable design and Sean's experience and innovative philosophies will be a great match for our clients."
Williams has experience in LEED design and biomimicry principles. LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a measure of resource efficiency and sustainability widely used as a green building rating system.
Williams' portfolio includes K-12, higher education, science and technology, health care, arts and culture, aviation, and sports. A press release says he's worked for some of the world's largest architecture firms as well as firms in Tampa Bay.
"I have admired Carlson Studios' work for years," says Williams in the statement. "Their team was among the first to embrace green building in all areas of architecture and design and have an award-winning portfolio that spans a wide variety of project types. I am looking forward to working with our clients to create the next generation of great sustainable buildings."
